In this world man will never be happy, never be healthy, never be friendly, nor become a champion without sports. A man will never be great in sports without fitness. Today we can see that most individual is up to sports and fitness. There are now plenty of gyms all around us, and so as sports centers. This is really good news, especially to Filipinos, since they gain benefits coming from different aspects, like physical, social, and intellectual. We can say physical because it can improve our muscle tone, our fluid circulation, and all activities in and out of our body. On the other hand, Social benefit can be from having friends, and establishing relationships to other individuals. The last one, which is the intellectual benefit, can be acquired through proper utilization of game rules, techniques, planning, and skillful moves. As we can see, sports and fitness should go together.
In order to be fit, we should have a daily exercise. To be fit needs time and effort. You cannot achieve perfect fitness if you are lazy. This is where discipline will set in. In having an exercise you should have a discipline, without it, it would not be effective. In connection with the three benefits namely the physical, social, and intellectual we can say that it can be applied to those youths involved in drug addiction, smoking, and alcoholism. It is a fact that there are now plenty of young people involved in those unhealthy practices. We can simply see them on the street, sniffing addictive substances, where even a young child around 5 years old is involved. To solve this problem the government should create a sports and fitness program that would encourage the youth to be part of it. The goal of this kind of program would be to divert the mind setting of the youth towards different kinds of sports rather than those unhealthy practices. In addition it can also somehow replenish them from those unhealthy substances. This is where we can see that sports and fitness are important. In fact, we can apply it other than those unhealthy youths, like individuals having psychiatric problems. For mentally challenge people it can also help them by improving their physical, social, intellectual status.
Since the social problem is common in psychiatric ward, a program of sports and fitness is recommended since this can promote good sportsmanship including friendship. It will somehow decrease the tensions of those patients with mood disorders, especially those manic clients. A sport is a good healer. It can reconnect broken relationships, it can help a person move on from his or her problems, and it can decrease or eliminate the stress within the person, it can even create unity and peace to a country. Just like the Filipino people, they are united together during a fight of their number one idol in boxing “Manny Pacquiao”. I wonder why there are some individuals who don’t like to have sport. Some of them think that it can affect their work and studies, some don’t like it because they think that it can cause injury to them. Let’s just face the fact. For me, they are so unfortunate because they miss one of the most important activities of daily living. I can say that sports and fitness can be for everyone whether you are young or old.
On the other hand, fitness can be used in plenty of purpose. Most individual wants to achieve perfect fitness just to have a good looking body, since being fit is said to be famous. We can actually see it in movie actors, singers, and TV hosts. We Filipinos are now influenced by the western culture, where the body figure becomes our main focus. With this matter, we can say that this is good news since it can promote a healthy life to humans. Sports and fitness are considered important part of human activity, and we should be applying it regularly.
